Working documents, legal pad and pen on a director's desk
Our operating standards

Standards, not licences.

HPT Group is an independent advisory consultancy. We are not a licensed Trust or Company Service Provider, fund administrator, banking institution or immigration agent. Where an engagement requires a regulated counterparty, we identify, brief and coordinate that counterparty under its own authorisation. The standards documented on this page describe how every HPT engagement is run.

Operating standards

The way every engagement is run.

These are firm-wide commitments, applied uniformly regardless of jurisdiction or matter size.

Standard

Director-led engagement model

Every engagement is led by a named principal director from kick-off through implementation. The director who signs the engagement letter signs the deliverable.

30 years

Working-papers retention

Every memorandum, scenario model and supporting document is retained for thirty years from the close of the engagement, in encrypted access-controlled storage.

ISO-aligned

Confidentiality and information security

Client information is encrypted in transit and at rest, with access on a need-to-know basis, multi-factor authentication and centralised credential management. Aligned with ISO/IEC 27001 principles.

No kickbacks

Independence — no commissions

We do not accept commissions, rebates or referral fees from banks, formation agents, developers or licensors. Our fee is the engagement-letter fee. Recommendations are based on fit, not payment.

FATF-aligned

AML-equivalent due diligence

We apply customer due-diligence, sanctions screening and politically-exposed-person checks aligned with FATF guidance before commencing any engagement, regardless of whether we are statutorily required to do so.

What this means in practice

HPT designs and coordinates cross-border structures. Where the structure requires a licensed counterparty (a Trust or Company Service Provider, a regulated trustee, a bank, a licensed CBI agent, a fund administrator), we identify that counterparty, brief them, place the file with a named relationship owner, and document the handover. You always know who is regulated for what. The advisory work and the licensed work are kept cleanly separate.

Want to see how a specific engagement is structured?

Five days from intake to a written diagnosis. The diagnosis sets out exactly which counterparties are involved, who is regulated for what, and what each party is responsible for.
